The “Surefoot” patented technology has been developed to bring safety benefits to those people who regularly climb ladders. In the UK alone there are over 40,000 ladder-related injuries that result in a hospital visit and at least 50 fatalities each year: many of these are caused by the use of ladders on uneven surfaces.
Surefoot is a simple but ingenious patented technology that self-levels the ladder so that the operator is always operating from a stable base.
The Working at Height Directive has further increased awareness of Ladder Safety. Despite that you can still daily instances of contractors/operators “taking a chance”, a fact that contributes to the rather frightening safety statistics featured in the next section.
The Surefoot product (featured at prototype stage) is a self-levelling device that can be both incorporated into new ladders as well as made available to retro-fit to existing aluminium ladders.
It is designed to improve safety whilst being totally simple to use. Once purchased or fitted it will not need constant readjustment.
